There continue to be complaints about the noise made by hirers using the Jessie Duffett Hall. This matter was discussed at the Committee Meeting on 13th July 2010 and the Committee decided to stop hiring out the hall for private functions until an effective way could be found of enforcing the hall hire conditions of contract. All existing bookings will be honoured.
If you have any queries about hall hire please contact JANET 0797 322 6946 or TONY 0789 068 3979 (Mon - Fri, 9am - 6pm only) |

We’re hoping that the work to the concrete podium area next to the Jessie Duffett Hall will be completed in time for the Community Fun Day on Saturday 28th August. The project has been mainly funded through a grant from Southwark’s Cleaner Greener Safer scheme. Originally, four of the vent shafts from the underground carpark were going to be demolished and replaced with new lighting and seating and there was to have been a new ramp from Wyndham Road on to the podium. Unfortunately the project came in well over budget and has been plagued with delays mainly due to difficulties accessing the underground carparks. The project consists now of only two vent shafts being demolished and the new ramp has had to be omitted. Nevertheless, we hope that the podium will be an improvement on what was there before and that at some time in the future it may be possible to complete the scheme if funding becomes available. |
